Ionia Sentinel Standard, 1 May 1947

Mr. and Mrs. J. Fred Townsend have been notified of the death of Edith Rauch of
Chicago April 29 at a Chicago hospital.  She was daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George
Rauch.  Her father was formerly Grand Trunk ticket agent in Ionia.  

Born in Washington, Michigan, she moved to Ionia from Ovid as a young woman and
lived here for a few years.  She was a graduate of the University of Chicago. 
At the time of her death, she still owned the family home on Lafayette street. 
She had retired in February, 1947, after teaching for many years in Chicago. 
Her sole survivor is a brother LaVerne Rauch, of Portland, Oregon.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 2, in Chicago.  Interment will be
in Highland Park cemetery in Ionia.
