Aug. 15, 2013 BELDING- Dalton Barnes Rayborn, 98, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away in Hillsdale on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2013. He was born in Big Sandy, Tenn. on Feb. 22, 1915, the son of John Richard and Eva (Barnes) Rayborn. Following his graduation from Big Sandy High School in 1934, he came to Detroit by train to find work, and completed a four year tool and die apprenticeship. He spent the greatest portion of his life in Belding and Wabasis Lake, retiring from Extruded Metals as tool and die foreman in 1977. He was an active member of the Belding Masonic Lodge, an avid hunter, golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed traveling, singing and playing the guitar. Dalton was known for his love of people and he was a good friend to many. Survivors include his wife of nearly 74 years. Irene *Bunting) Rayborn of Hillsdale; son, Richard (Sharon) Rayborn of Wausau, Wis.; daughter, Carol (Ray) Bentley of Hillsdale; grandchildren, Jeff Rayborn and Jennifer (Wayne) Smith of Wausau, Christopher (Shelly) Bentley of Jackson, Scott (Maryne) Bentley of Monroe, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Everett Rayborn; sisters, Jenola Gaddy and Mary Compton. A service celebrating Dalton's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 21, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Belding, with pastor Bruce Burfield officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, 220 Alderman St., Belding, MI 48809 or Hospice of Hillsdale County, 124 Howell St. Hillsdale, MI 49242. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where funeral care and cremation services have been entrusted.
