Mrs. Fanny (Mae) Raymond, 81, former Belding resident died Tuesday afternoon at 
Cook’s Rest Home following a lengthy illness.  She was born July 24, 1873, in 
Ionia township, the daughter of Jonathan T. and Kate Smith.

October 11, 1892 she was married to John Henry Raymond of Lapeer county.  Mr. 
Raymond died in 1944.  Two sons, Harold and Ray, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Alton E. of Greenville and Frank R. of Belding; five 
daughters, Mrs. George Sargeant of Ionia, Mrs. Albert Petersen of Belding, Mrs. 
Jesse Sargeant of Pueblo, Colo., Mrs. Ellsworth Hall of Portland, and Mrs. 
Norman Wood of Belding; 25 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Stone-
Kauffman funeral home with the Rev. Lester B. Clough officiating.  Interment 
will be at Highland Park cemetery.
