JERRY RAYMOND
Jerry Raymond, age 81, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family 
on May 12, 2016.

He was born to Charles and Effie (Leslie) Raymond on June 9, 1934 in Hastings.

He married Shirley Leslie on March 7, 1953 in Hastings. Together they raised 
four children.

Jerry loved his family, telling jokes, going for Sunday drives (every day of the 
week), painting and drawing, working on cars and driving in demolition derbies 
for 33 years.

He was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and worked at General Motors for 29 
years, retiring in 1990.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Raymond; daughters, Gerri (Gene) Kemp 
and Tammy (Todd) Fendt; grandchildren, Dino Kaufman, Tiffany (Rowland) Taulbee, 
Jarrod Kemp, Aaron Raymond, Marie Hege, William Hege, Joseph Hege, Jacob Hege, 
Celeste Fendt and Nick Fendt, along with eight great-grandchildren; and brother, 
Dick (Jo) Raymond.

Preceding Jerry in death are his parents; sons, James Raymond and Rocky Raymond 
along with six siblings.

Visitation for Jerry will be held at Koops Funeral Chapel, 935 4th Ave. Lake 
Odessa, on Sunday, May 15, from 4-6 PM and on Monday, May 16, from 10 AM to 
noon. Funeral services will follow visitation on Monday, May 16, 2016 at noon. 
Interment at Lakeside Cemetery, next to his sons, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations, in Jerry's memory, be 
made to Lake Odessa Fire department/First Responders.
