The Lowell Journal, Wednesday, April 22, 1885
Mrs. Catharine Raymond was born in N.Y. State, Madison Co.  Died at their 
pleasant home in the Marble neighborhood of Keene township last week Thursday; 
aged 69 years and 14 days.  Mr. Raymond’s people were among the first settlers 
of this part of the State.  This mother’s untiring hand has cared for a large 
family who now mourn her departure, some of whom are Christians.  Mrs. Raymond 
was well known not only in Keene but also to many of the people of Lowell.  
Thus she leaves a large number of friends.  She loved her Bible and her God.  
The funeral was held last Saturday at the old home. Her body was buried in 
that beautiful rural cemetery near the Marble schoolhouse.
