Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Tues. July 24, 2012

Joel Howard Raymor, 58, of Ionia passed away July, 18, 2012. He was born July 
23, 1953 in Ionia, the son of Meredith and Marian (Benedict) Raymor. He married 
Robin Knipe in 1982.

He was a graduate of Ionia High School in 1971. Joel worked as a supervisor for 
the Department of Corrections for 25 years. He served in the Army during 
Vietnam and went to Iraq for two years for the department of Justice. He also 
loved to hunt and collect guns.

He is survived by his loving wife, sons, Brian Raymor of Ionia and Anthony 
Raymor of Ionia; mother Marian McKendry of Ionia; brothers, Steve Raymor and 
Lisa Hurst of St. Johns; sister, Pauline (Bill) Bradway of Arizona; step 
brothers, Richard (Mary Jo) McKendry of Lyons Martin (Margo) McKendry of 
Orleans, Terry (Teresa) McKendry of Ionia; step sister, Marla McKendry and 
Signa Allen of Ionia; and aunt, Sandra (Louis) Shafer of Ionia.

He was preceded in death by his two great nephews, Peyton and Klayton, and one 
cousin, James Hoy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at Lake Funeral 
Home in Ionia with Pastor Bert Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held 1 to 
3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Joel's 
name to Lemmon Holten Caner Center. Online condolences may be made at
