He left his wife and daughter in Austria and came to the United States in 1907, and stopped in Texas for about nine years, and then came to Matherton, Michigan, and bought the old hotel building, where he has made his home since. He has been a great sufferer with asthma for some time. His son Peter came to care for him and did all he could to relieve his suffering. He passed away at about one o'clock Friday morning. The funeral was held at the U.B. church in Matherton, and the body laid to rest in East Plains cemetery. the deceased was a Catholic by faith and often when neighbors would call, would tell them that God was caring for him. The funeral services were held by S.J. Potter, pastor of the U.B. Church. Additional Comments: E.
