Mrs. Rector’s maiden name was Mary Jane Detcher and she was born in Peterborough, Ont., in 1850. She came to Ionia early in life and shortly after married George Rector, living on a farm in Easton for the first few years of their married life. Mrs. Rector was a woman whose interests in life were bound up in her family and her church, the Methodist church. She was not known to many outside those activities but in her own small circle of friends and in her family her loss will be greatly felt. She leaves beside her husband, a daughter, Lillian, and a son, Leo Rector to mourn her loss. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 at the residence, 650 West Washington street, Rev. Meader officiating, and interment in Oak Hill. Mrs. Rector’s brother, Richard Detcher of Petoskey, has arrived to attend the funeral.
