Redemsky, 91, formerly of 9 Stevenson place, died early Saturday morning at Belding Christian Nursing home after being a patient the past few months. He was a long time residence of North Jefferson in Ionia. Born in Ionia March 31, 1884, he was the son of Rheinhold and Bertha Speckin Redemsky. He attended the St. John’s Lutheran Teachers college in Illinois. August 20 1903, he was married in Ionia to Anna Holtz and she died January 11, 1956. He was employed by the State of Michigan as an inspector for the liquor control commission several years after which he was a self employed painter and decorator until his retirement. He was active in politics in Ionia having served as alderman for the fourth ward six years. He was a member of the Ionia public school board five years. He was also an active hunter and fisherman most of his life. Among his survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Stevenson of Ionia, son Louis of Williston, Fla., four grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren; brothers, Fred of St. Petersburg, Fla. and sister, Mrs. Mamie Alvord of Sun City, Ariz. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick funeral home. Rev. A. R. Gallert of the St. John’s Lutheran church will officiate and interment will be at the Highland Park cemetery.
