Redemsky Dies Here Death came suddenly Friday afternoon to Erwin A. Redemsky, 64, former Ionia businessman. He was also a former member of the County Board of Supervisors from the fourth ward. He went to work as usual at the Michigan Reformatory but returned to his home at 7 Stevenson place when he did not feel well. He was stricken with a heart attack and died at 2:30 in the afternoon in the home where he had resided the past 31 years. He was born June 29, 1895 in Ionia, the son of Reinhold and Bertha Redemsky and spent his entire lifetime in business and public service in Ionia. Following his attendance at St. Johns Lutheran school he attended the Ionia high school and Ferris Institute. Before joining his father in business in Ionia he was employed by the Grand Trunk Railroad as a locomotive firemen. Later he entered the Redemsky Coal Co. which his father had operated for many years and at one time they organized and operated the Michigan Artificial Ice and Storage Co. For the past 14 years he had been employed at the Michigan Reformatory as a corrections officer. He had been affiliated with the Democratic Party for many years and served nine years as a member of the county board of supervisors and was a candidate for sheriff of Ionia county at one time. He was married to Dora Hauserman June 29, 1920. Besides his civic and business interests he had life memberships in the Ionia Elks lodge and the Ionia County Fishing and Hunting club. He was generally known to his friends as Jack and enjoyed the out of doors. During the past several years he confined his efforts and spare time to the beautification of his home and its surroundings. He could be seen daily caring for his many varieties of roses and a well trimmed lawn. Besides his wife, Dora, he is survived by two sons, Erwin of South Bend, Ind. and Blaine of Gainesville, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Dunn of Ionia; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Schnell of Ionia, and Mrs. Lee Alford of Grand Rapids; two brothers, William of Ionia, and Fred of Mecosta. Funeral service will be Monday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the St. Johns Lutheran Church on Jefferson street. The Rev. Theodore Timler will officiate and burial will be in the family lot at Highland Park cemetery. Members of the family will be at the Phelps funeral chapel Saturday evening from 7 until 9 o’clock, Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 and in the evening 7 to 9. A memorial fund will be established in the memory of Mr. Redemsky for the building fund of the St. Johns Lutheran church. ------------ Funeral service for Erwin A. Redemsky, 64, who died February 5 at his residence at 7 Stevenson place, was held Monday at 1 p.m. from the St. Johns Lutheran Church. Prayer service was held at the Phelps funeral chapel at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. Theodore Timler officiated and interment was at Highland Park cemetery. Bearers word Gerald Schnell, Louis Redemsky, Leonard Hausserman, Edward Ruehs, James Gazella and Edward Hansen. Employees of the Michigan Reformatory where Mr. Redemsky worked, attended in a group and acted as honorary guards. Attending from out of town or Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Redemsky and Terry of Gainesville, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Redemsky of South Bend, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Louis Redemsky of East Lansing, Mrs. Martin Engel, Mrs. Ernie Powell and George Snyder of Saginaw; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Schnell of Owosso, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Alvord of Grand Rapids, Reinhold A.
