Sentinel-Std. - Monday, Aug. 1, 1977

IONIA- Fred W. Redemsky, 90, of St. Petersburg, Florida, died Sunday at St. 
Petersburg.

He was born in Ionia December 26, 1887, the son of Reinhart and Bertha Speckin 
Redemsky.

Mr. Redemsky attended schools in Ionia and graduated from the University of 
Michigan with degrees in engineering and education.

He taught school in Saginaw and for many years at Creston high school

He married the former Sarah Hawley in Chicago in 1923. She survives.

Since retiring, the Redemskys spent summers at a cottage near Big Rapids and 
winters in Florida before moving to Florida permanently three years ago. 

Surviving besides his wife are six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and 
one sister, Mrs. Lee (Marie) Alvord of Sun City, Arizona. Two daughters, 
Elizabeth and Margaret preceded him in death.

Services are Wednesday at 2 pm from the Leddick funeral home with Rev. Boyd R. 
Swem of Second Congregational church of Grand Rapids officiating. 

Burial is in Highland Park cemetery.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Tuesday 2 to 
4 and 7 to 9 pm.
