Marie L. Reece, 89, of Belding, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 at United 
Memorial Health Center, Long Term Care Unit in Greenville.

Marie was born Dec. 26, 1912, in Ionia County, the daughter of Oscar and Lena 
Faxon Sage.  Marie graduated from the James Couzen Agriculture School in Bath 
with the class of 1930.

She was married Aug. 28, 1936 in Angola, Ind., to Charles Reece and he preceded 
her in death on Aug. 24, 1983.  She was also preceded in death by her parents 
and two brothers, Norman Sage and Forest L. Sage.

Marie is survived by several nieces, nephews and two sisters-in-law:  
Marguerite Sage of East Lansing and Ivene Sage of Belding.

Funeral services for Marie will be 11 a.m. Friday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral 
Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating.  Interment will be in River 
Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation is Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral 
home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Belding Library or the Belding 
Museum.
