Portland Observer, 9 Oct 1930

Mrs. Caroline Reed, Aged 78 years, widow of the late Perry Reed, died early 
this morning at the home of her son, Henry Reed, in Lansing.  The body was 
brought to Portland and funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the 
Methodist church, in charge of Rev. Carson.

Mrs. Reed was well known in Portland having spent many years of her lifetime 
here, going to Lansing a number of months ago to make her home with her son.  
Besides the son at whose home she died she is survived by two other sons and 
one daughter.  They are Fred and Allie Reed, of Portland, and Mrs. Alex Miller, 
of Lansing.
