She was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Crane. She resided on the home farm until Jan. 24th, 1907, when she was united in marriage to Burton L. Reed of Ionia, and they immediately took up their residence in the city, where Mr. Reed is engaged in business as one of its leading grocers. To this union two children were born: Clarence, a boy of 4 years, and Dorothy, a little girl of 2 ½ years. In Feb., 1910, Mrs. Reed was stricken ill, and on advice of physician she was taken to Butterworth hospital, Grand Rapids, where her case was pronounced tuberculosis. She soon returned home, and in a few days she returned to the parental residence, where she was born, where all that could be done by a devoted husband, a loving father and mother, and ever-faithful sisters, was done to relieve her of her sufferings and restore her to health, but their efforts were in vain. On Dec. 15th she departed this life. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, a loving and dutiful daughter and affectionate sister, and to her many friends ever true and faithful. The testimonial of one who has known her all her life.
