Mr. Edward D. Reid, 39, of Orleans passed away Monday, August 27, 2001 at 
Spectrum Health, Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.

He was born the son of Roland and Venola (Reed) Reid on Oct. 10, 1961 in 
Ionia.  Ed graduated from the Maple Valley High School in Nashville in 1979.

He worked at E.B.I. in Lake Odessa and currently was employed at Volcor 
Finishing in Ionia for the past three years.

Surviving are his wife Lori; three stepchildren, Amanda and Cody Hamilton and 
Michael Swartz all at home; his mother, Venola (Wesley) Figel of Lake Odessa; 
two brothers, Roland F. Reid Jr. of Virginia and Jon Figel of Lake Odessa; two 
sisters, Debbie Winner of Kansas and Lora (Donald) Brewer of Virginia; father-
in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Rosemary Hamilton of Orleans. Many nieces 
and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Roland Reid in May of 1969; 
grandparents, Florance and Clyde Reid and Beatrice and James Reed.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the Shiloh 
Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating.  The organist will be 
Beverley Harger.  Interment in Orleans Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Shiloh 
Community Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Spectrum Health, Butterworth I.C.U.  
Arrangements for Ed have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home in Ionia.
