Mrs. John Reed, 76, of Danby township, died Monday afternoon at her home.  She 
had been seriously ill since April 2, when she suffered a stroke which was 
followed by another on April 11.  

Her maiden name as Sarah E. Swimeley and she was born at Logansport, Indiana.  
The family later moved to New York and then to Michigan, settling in Danby 
township when Mrs. Reed was seven years old.  She was married there 49 years 
ago to John Red, who passed away about two years ago from injuries received in 
an automobile accident.  There is one surviving son, Fred Reed, of Danby. 

Funeral services will be held at the home this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:00 in 
charge of Rev. L. M. Rigelman, with burial in the Danby cemetery.
