Ionia Daily Sentinel - Fri. Aug. 23, 1912


Elwood Reed died in Grand Rapids Friday morning of heart trouble. Mr. Reed has 
been in poor health for some time, but a card recently received by his wife 
stated that he was feeling much better so the news of his death came as a great 
shock. Mrs. Reed accompanied by her family went to Grand Rapids and the funeral 
was held there Sunday. Mr. Reed has been in the employ of the several owners of 
the west side meat market here, so he has come in contact with a large number 
of people outside of Palo as well as in town who will greatly regret his death. 
He was a quiet, unpretending man, but he made many friends here who held him in 
the highest esteem. He leaves a wife and three daughters, Mrs. Jessie Beach, 
Miss Hazel Reed and Mrs. Bessie Howarth.
