Ionia Sentinel-Standard – Tues. June 23, 1987

JACKSON – Robert L. Reed, 62, of Jackson, formerly of Ionia, died June 13 at 
his residence.

He was born July 17, 1924 in Battle Creek, the son of Ray and Lula Flint Reed.

He attended school in Lake Odessa and was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the 
U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife, Vivian; five sons, Robert, Charles, Jerry, and Terry 
Stephens of Ionia, Kirk Reed of Grand Rapids; one step-son, Douglas Burt of 
Jackson; one step-daughter, Rebecca Burt of Jackson one brother, Lewis R. Reed; 
one sister, June Shotwell of Ionia; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

A step-son, Greg Burt, preceded him in death July 6, 1981.

Funeral services were June 16 from the Burden Funeral Home in Jackson.

Burial was at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Jackson.
