Sept. 22, 1903 Death of Roy Reed. Roy Reed died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Reed, last Thursday night, aged 23 years. He was born in Carson City but came with his parents to Portland when very young. He was associated with his father in the livery business at the time of his death. When three years old Roy was thrown from a buggy and injured, curvature of the spine soon developing. He has been a sufferer from tis ever since and his death is traced to the accident in his infancy. He was a highly esteemed young man whose death will be greatly regretted. The funeral was an unusually large one, the M.E. church being well filled. Rev. D.E. Millard preached the sermon. The hearse that carried the remains to the grave was drawn by two gray horses, in compliance with the suggestion made by the young man during his last moments on earth.
