Hastings Reminder, 3 Jan 2006

Raymond Allen Reed, of Sunfield, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2005 at 
Pennock Hospital in Hastings at the age of 70. 

He was born April 10, 1935 in Portland, the son of Raymond Orville and Margaret 
(Phillips) Reed.

Ray served in the U.S. Army.  

He retired from General Motors as a line driver.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, and step dad, Arza Ward; son, 
Timothy Reed; granddaughter, Samantha Reed; brother, John Reed; and three step 
brothers.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Jean A. (Richmond) Reed, they married 
February 8, 1958; children, Marilyn (Jim) Crater, Paul (Brenda) Reed, Mark 
Reed, Ray (Deanna) Reed, Melissa (Robert) Wendorf; grandchildren, Damon Reed, 
Catrina Reed, Stephanie Reed, James Reed, Anya Crater, Donny Crater, Ray 
McKelvey, John McKelvey, Amanda McKelvey, Eric McKelvey, Mark Reed Jr., Bret 
Reed, Joshua Reed, Ray Reed II, Robert Wendorf III, Alexandra Wendorf; seven 
great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Georgia McGriff, Charlie Reed and 
Hazel Simmons.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 29, 2005 at the Rosier Funeral 
Home, Mapes-Fisher Chapel, Sunfield, with the Rev. Mark Patchett officiating.  
For those wishing, contributions may be made to the Sunfield Area Sponsors of 
Programs for Youth Scholarship Fund, aka S.P.Y.’s Scholarship Fund c/o RFH, 
P.O. Box 36, Sunfield, MI 48890.  The family is being served by the Independent 
Family Owned Funeral Home in Sunfield; Rosier Funeral Home.
