Lewis Ray Reed Sr., 92, of Ionia, passed away Dec. 9, 2013.  He was born Nov. 
1, 1921, in Battle Creek the son Ray and Lula Reed.

Lewis grew up in his younger years in Lake Odessa.  He married Margaret L. Ames 
in Hastings on March 22, 1947.  She passed away Nov. 5, 1998.  Lewis received a 
Purple Heart from the Army during World War II where he served in the Pacific 
Theater.  He was always independent and liked to watch football and wrestling.

Lewis is survived by his son Michael (Nikki) Reed of Ionia, 11 grandchildren, 
several great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded 
in death by his wife; parents; two sons, Lewis Jr. and Douglas Edward; 
daughter, Monica Gardner; one brother; and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 13th at Lake Funeral Home of Ionia.
