Ionia Sentinel Standard, 5 Sep 1996

Edwin W. Reed, 87, of Ionia died Aug. 31, 1996 at Heartland Medical Care Center.
 He was born June 23, 1909 in Traverse City, the son of Herbert and Birdie
(Dunn) Reed.  He attended Lansing Business College and married Roberts Downing
in Alma on June 22, 1930.  He retired from the A.O. Smith Corp. in 1970 as a
machinist and enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

He is survived by his wife: Roberta of Ionia; son: Gene (Sonja) Reed of Ionia;
daughter: Joan (Robert) Smith of Shelby Township; brother: Raymond Reed of
Ionia; sister: Joy Robertson of Alma; five grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.

By his request there will be no visitation or services, and cremation will take
place with burial in Crystal Cemetery.  Arrangements by Hull Memorial Chapel in
Muir.
