Daily Sentinel-Std. - Thursday September 24, 1953

SARANAC- Warren Reed, 72, a Keen township farmer for 43 years, died in 
Belding city hospital at 4 p.m. Wednesday. He had been ill for the past nine 
months. 

Born October 6, 1881 in Ionia county, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Amos 
Reed.

Mrs. Reed lived in Keene township for 48 years. Two years ago Mr. and Mrs. 
Reed celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. He was a member of the 
Farmer's Union and the Keene grange.

Funeral services are to be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the 
Community church in Saranac with the Rev. Paul Bolger officiating. Burial 
will be at Saranac cemetery.

Surviving are the wife Elizabeth; three sons, Versil of Clarksville, Clayo 
of Vermontville, and Milo of Lake Odessa; two brothers, Harlo of Grand Ledge 
and Clyde of Mulliken; a sister, Mrs. Violet Hawley of West Branch; nine 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers at the service will be Ray Neilson, Corwin Cahoon, Theron 
Cahoon, Stanley Brooks, Bert Tunis and Clinton Hayes.
