Lake Odessa Wave-Thurs. December 18, 1958

JAMES REED DIED FRIDAY
James W. Reed, 71, passed away Friday night at Pennock hospital, where he had 
been a patient about two weeks. He was a Fieldman the Lake Odessa Canning 
Company for many years, retiring several years ago because of ill health.

He spent this early life on a farm in Sebewa and  had lived in the village about 
40 years. His parents were Hosea and Jennie (Harwood) Reed. 

Surviving are his wife, the former Beulah Parmenter; two sons Ivan of 
Schoolcraft and Stanley of Ionia; four daughters, Mrs.Harold Buxton and 
Mrs.Allen Wieczorek, both of Ionia. Mrs.Melvin Fry of Woodland and Mrs.James 
Reusser of Byron center, two sisters, Mrs.Fay Bachelder of Grand Rapids and Mrs. 
Floyd Roush, route 21, Clarksville; three brothers, Walter, Ernest and Ray of 
Lake Odessa; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

 Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 pm at the  Pickens Funeral Chapel 
with burial in Lakeside Cemetery. Rev. A.J. Pitman officiated.
