Port Salerno, FL.- James Andrew Reed, age 62, of Port Selerno, FL. passed away April

20, 2005.

He was born on January 12, 1943 in Muskegon.

He was raised on the family farm near Lake Odessa and graduated from Lake Odessa 
High School in 1961.

He attended Central Michigan University until he enlisted in the US Navy.

After boot camp in San Diego, CA he attended Submarine school. He then saw service 
in Vietnam on the LST ship.

He was formerly married to Josephine Shadusky.

After Vietnam he attended the University of Michigan and became an electrical 
engineer. He began a career in carpentry, building homes, starting his own business

of Jim Reed Construction, Inc.

In 1980, he began building small sailboats, and eventually completed his dream of a

60 ft. wooden sailboat which he made his home on over 10 years. 

Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Livingston in 2002, and niece, Julaine

Reed in 1999.

He leaves to mourn his loss two daughters, Jodi (Gene) Augustine of New York and 
Jessica Reed of Massachusetts; son, James Andrew Reed, II of Venice, FL; 
granddaughters, Miranda Augustine and Julie Anne Reed; grandson, Joshua Reed; 
parents, Milo and Bonny Reed; sisters, Joy (Dan) Ayres, Jan (Phil) Thelen, and Jari

(Walker) Collins; brother, Milo "Jack" Reed and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces 
and nephews. 

Funeral services were held Monday, April 25, 2005 at the Clarksville Bible Church. 
Burial took place at Clarksville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
