The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, February 20, 2007
Gene Erwin Reed age 71, of Ionia passed away Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 
his home. He was born March 6, 1935 in Ionia the son of Erwin and Roberta 
(Downing) Reed who preceded him in death in 1996 and 2002.

He leaves behind 3 loving sons; Rick Reed, Randy and Rhonda Reed, Roger Reed 
and Vicki Sharpe all of Ionia; grandchildren, Matt and Kylie Reed of Saranac, 
Beth Reed, Renee Reed, Rachel Reed and Chad Haney, Ryan Reed and Jenna Meyers, 
Brent and Linnette Reed, Jennifer Reed and Holly Sharpe all of Ionia; 10 great 
grandchildren; sister Joan and Bob Smith of Sterling Heights and best friend 
Gary McQuillan of Lyons.

By his request there will be no services. Cremation has taken place with 
burial in Crystal Cemetery. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  
People wishing to make an expression of sympathy may make donations in Gene’s 
name to Hospice of Ionia or Ionia Animal Shelter. The family would like to 
thank Ionia Hospice for all their wonderful help and support.
