Reeder, 74, a former Sebewa resident, died Saturday at Evanston, Ill., after an operation following a sudden illness. The body was brought to Lansing where funeral services were held Monday with Rev. W. E. Doty, of Portland, officiating. Burial was made in Danby cemetery. Mr. Reeder was born in Baltimore and came to Sebewa with his father when 14 years of age. When a young man he was united in marriage to Mary Sayer, of Roxand, who died three years ago. After their marriage the couple started housekeeping on the Charlie Hier? farm near Sebewa creek, later moving to Sunfield township where they resided for a time when they located in Lansing. Some time after his wife’s death Mr. Reeder was again married, his second wife, one son, Earl J. Reeder, of Evanston, Ill., three brothers, Ellery, of Woodbury; Oscar, of Brooksville, Fla., and Selleck, of Lansing, and one sister, Mrs. Eliza Ray, of Blanchard, survives. Miss Nola Reeder, of Danby, is an aunt, and Mrs. O. O. Barton, of Portland, a cousin. For a number of years, Mr. Reeder had been living at Brooksville, Fla., and came to Michigan recently to attend the Reeder family reunion held Sunday at Alton park. Last week he went to Evanston to visit his son and it was while there that his death occurred.
