Reeder nee Mary Sayer, a former resident of this place died at her home in Lansing Sunday morning. She had been in poor health a number of years but was not confined to her bed with less than a week before her death. Heart trouble was the cause of death. She was born in Jackson County, Michigan, May 20, 1857, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sayer. When a girl of about 13 she moved with her parents to Roxand Township, Eaton County. March 25, 1884 she was married to W. S. Reeder. To this union two children were born, a daughter who died at the age of about two and one half years and a son, Earl. Mr. and Mrs. Reeder lived in this vicinity and owned a farm two miles east of town until they moved to Lansing several years ago. For about 12 years past their winters were spent in Florida and summers either in Lansing or Evanston, Ill., having homes in all three places. Surviving are the husband, one son, Earl, of Evanston, Ill.: three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Christa Baldwin of Blanchard and Mrs. S. l. Buchner of Sebewa, four brothers, Will, John, Andrew and Albert Sayer. The funeral was held Tuesday forenoon at the Jarvis Estes Funeral Home, Lansing, Rev. Flowerday, pastor of the East Michigan Avenue M. E. Church of Lansing, officiating. Interment was in the Danby cemetery, Ionia county.
