July 11, 1907 SUDDENLY CALLED Mrs. John Reeder Passed Away While on a Visit to her Daughter The uncertainty of life has again been fully illustrated in this city by the sudden passing away of Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Reeder, beloved wife of John Reeder near Vickeryville. Last Wednesday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Reeder came to this city to surprise their daughter, Mrs. William Allen. The surprise was complete and both guests and entertainers planned to go to Greenville Thursday to spend the Fourth. The trip on the cars brought on a severe headache and Mrs. Reeder send for some headache medicine and after taking two small doses of the same she was stricken with heart failure and although medical assistance was quickly summoned it proved of no avail and she passed away about three o’clock on the morning of the Fourth. Mrs. Reeder was 53 years, 1 month and 15 days old and has been an invalid for some time past. The remains were held in this city until Tuesday last awaiting the arrival of a daughter who resides in Tennessee. And the body was shipped to Vickeryville Tuesday from where it was taken to Bushnell where the funeral was held at the United Brethren church, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Bloomer cemetery.
