He had previously shot the snake and after the third shot, concluding the snake was fully dead he reached for the tail to remove the rattles, but just then received the bite on his hand or wrist from the dead snake or its mate. He was taken to the hospital where all that medical science could do proved unavailing. The remains were brought here, and funeral services were held at the M.E. church Saturday afternoon and the interment was in the family lot in Palo cemetery. He leaves a wife, his mother and a brother.
