He was born April 29, 1960, in Greenville, Mich., the son of James and Shirley (Boyce) Reeder. Gordon married Jeanine Cotter March 12, 1989, in Lansing. Gordy worked as a Boiler Operator for Devereaux Sawmill. He enjoyed hunting with his bow and gun. He loved to farm, raise beef cattle and go to shows and calf sales. He was active in 4-H with his sons. He was often referred to as the oldest member of the Prairie Creek Hustlers 4-H Club. Gordy is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Jeanine Reeder of Fenwick; sons Jacob (Sarah) Reeder of Clarksville and Eric Reeder of Fenwick and his girlfriend, Stephanie Taylor of Ionia; mother, Shirley Reeder of Ionia; brothers, Louis (JulieAnn) Reeder of Kemmerer, Wyoming and Roger (Pam) Reeder of Twin Lake; sisters, Penny Thomas of Grand Rapids and Teresa (Charlie) Brown of Belding; granddaughter, Johanna Reeder; father and mother in law Bruce and Janice Cotter of Weidman; sister and brother-in-laws, Kim and Tim Sheerin of Grand Ledge and Todd and Julie Cotter of Grand Ledge; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his father in 2007. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Lake Funeral Home of Ionia with Pastor Cliff Allen officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Gordy's name may be made to American Cancer Society or Great Lakes Hospice.
