The death of Ellen T. Reese, aged 56 years, and a former resident of this city, 
took place at the Ionia hospital on Sunday, August 10 and came after a long 
illness caused by a heart ailment. Mrs. Reese, with her husband and family had 
resided in this city for a number of years prior to moving to Ionia eight years 
ago. 

Surviving are her husband, Charles Reese; five daughters, Pauling and 
Geraldine, at home, Mrs. Ray Martin of Ionia, Mrs. Everson Root of Greenville 
and Mrs. Edward Mintline, the former Marian Frenett, of this city, and now of 
Adrian; three brothers and two sisters.  

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at Ionia and burial was in the 
cemetery at Sheridan.
