Letha A. Reese, age 84, of Lake Odessa passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at
Spectrum’s Blodgett Campus in Grand Rapids.  She was born to Wayne and Mildred
(Haynes) Shade on September 11, 1930 in Lake Odessa.  Letha was a graduate of Lake
Odessa High School.  Letha was an avid birthday card sender, never missing a
birthday, and held legendary 4th of July gatherings.

She is survived by her children, Sue (Russell) Messer and Michael (Linda) Carter;
grandchildren, Michelle (Frank) Purchis, Shannon Carter, Shawn (Elizabeth) Carter
and Joseph (Shannon) Orlowski; and six great grandchildren; siblings, Sherrie (Tom)
Wacha, Gene (Trudy) Shade, Dean (Shirley) Shade; sisters-in-law, Pearl and Bobbie
Shade.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Harold Reese; siblings, Frances
Johnston, Brandon Shade, Karolyn Stalter, Marvin Shade, Linda Stidham and
stepbrother, Robert Hill.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Koops Funeral Home. 
Memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure in
Letha’s name.
