Leon Reese Passed Away

Leon Reese, 63, of Ashcamp, Ky., passed away Tuesday evening at the Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital a few hours after admittance. He was a retired coal miner and 
came a week ago to the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Walker 
Stidham, rural Lake Odessa, where he had planned to spend the winter.

he was born in Hellier, Ky. June 2, 1907, the son of Camble and Amanda 
(Childias) Reese. Mr. Reese was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church at 
Ashcamp. 

Surviving are his wife, Vesta; one daughter, Mrs. Stidham; one son, Q.V. Reese 
of Pemberton, Ohio; four grandchildren; two brothers, Quinton Reese of St. Paul, 
N.C. and William of Ashcamp, Ky.; five sisters, Mrs. Pearl Childress and Mrs. 
Roxie Childress, both of Hellier, Ky.; Mrs. Alithrie Craft of Ashland, Ky. Mrs. 
Reba Clark and Mrs. Kelsey Stewart, both of Portsmouth, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at the Justice Funeral Home in Pikesville, 
Ky., with burial in the Ashcamp cemetery.
