Jim Reese, aged 56, of Lake Odessa, passed away suddenly at his home on 
Sunday, February 19, 2006. Jim was born in Hastings on July 8, 1949 to Harold 
and Beulah (Moe) Reese.  He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1968 and 
then served in Vietnam in the U.S. Army from 1969-1970. Following his 
retirement, Jim spent many enjoyable hours shooting trap, hunting, and 
fishing. Throughout the years Jim devoted a great deal of time mentoring 
others and sharing his love of the outdoors. 

Jim is survived by his step-mother, Letha Reese; sisters and brothers, Betty 
Soule, Penny (Roger) Taylor, Carl (Pat) Reese, Mike (Marcia) Reese, and Dawn 
Reese; and his second family up north. 

Visitation will be held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa on Tuesday, 
February 21, 2006 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and again from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on 
Wednesday. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on 
Wednesday. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery with military honors provided 
by the Jackson-Mutschler VFW Post #4461. The family has suggested that 
memorial contributions may be made to the Lakewood Community Ambulance, or the 
Lake Odessa Fire Department.
