The Ionia Standard, Friday, June 22, 1906


Chris. M. Rehfus, the well known meat market man at Muir, and respected 
resident, died Monday.

Christian M. Rehfus, who died at Muir last week, was a member of Ionia Council 
of the Royal Arcanum, in which he carried $3000 of insurance.  He was born in 
Germany in 1845; came to Philadelphia in 1866; and to Muir in the 70’s.  He 
was for many years the village butcher, and the family have always enjoyed the 
fullest respect and confidence of their neighbors, and of many friends in 
Ionia city and county.
