M. W. REHORN DIES AT AGE OF 85 YEARS ------------ Another elderly resident also the mother of Mrs. Fred Urtel passed away on Wednesday of last week, after many months of constant care by a loving daughter. Mrs. Rehorn was a very friendly lovable character who enjoyed and appreciated her friends. Sinc her husband's death she has resided with her daughter and husband Mr. and Mrs. Fred. A Urtel on Jordan Lake Street. Another daughter Mrs. Emma Silliman of Coopervsville has also helped care for her mother. ------------ OBITUARY OF MRS. M. W. REHORN Josephine Dorothy Rettman was born in New York state May 30, 1859, and passed away November 1, 1944, aged 85 years, five months and two days. At an early age she became a member of the English Lutheran church. In October, 1879, she was united in marriage to Martin W. Rehorn. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Emma Silliman of Cooperville, and Mrs. Nellie Urtel of Lake Odessa, who with two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive. In 1916, Mr. and Mrs. Rehorn came to Lake Odessa to make their home with their children where Mr. Rehorn preceded her in death on October 14, 1928. She was a life member of the Rebekah lodge and an honorary member of the Past Noble Grands' club. For the past five years she has been an invalid, being confined to her bed much of the time. She lived a long and useful life, always taking an active part in family and community life until she became ill. Funeral services were held at the residence Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Urtel, Saturday afternoon with the Rev. E. Augustus Shulls officiating. Members of Rebekah lodge attended in a body. Bearers were Thomas Johnson, Charles F. Ernsberger, Fred Wilson, Myrl E. Doty, William C. McCartney and Homer Bartlett. Interment was made in Lakeside cemetery.
