Reid, aged 84, of Lake Odessa, was taken by her Lord on Thursday morning, September 22, 2005 to be reunited with her loving husband, Roland Reid. Iris was born in Woodbury on February 6, 1921 to Carl J. and Neva (Wells) Pierce. She had been a long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jackson-Mutschler VFW Post # 4461 in Lake Odessa. Iris enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. She loved to watch Westerns on TV, especially "Walker: Texas Ranger" and any episode of "Bonanza," whether it was for the first time or the fiftieth time. Iris is survived by her children, Gary and Ruth "Pude" Stair of Lake Odessa, Vicki and Jim Hurst of Alaska, and Carol and David Melton of Arizona; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; and her faithful companion, Penny. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roland Reid; and brother, Vivern Pierce. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sun., September 25 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jackson-Mutschler VFW Post # 4461.
