Mr. Reif died March 20 at Belding Community Hospital. Pastor Ronald A. Ritter officiated at the services. Interment was at Rest Haven Memory Gardens. Arrangements were by Huffman Funeral Home. Mr. Reif was born May 2, 1920 in Tuscola county. He was the son of Herbert and Helen (Bierlein) Reif. He was married to Barbara Dietrick. He was a rural mail carrier for the United States postal service. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Belding Sportsman’s Club, Belding American Legion and was a World War II veteran. He was part owner of Candlestone Inn and also manager of Dietrick’s Nursery. He is survived by his wife Barbara; his mother Helen Hecht of Frankenmuth; one daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Lynne) Line of Holland; three sons, William Patten and Charles Patten, both of Route 1, and Stuart Reif, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Arleen Keinath of Reese and Mrs. Joanna Hudson of Bay City; two brothers, Melvin Reif of Saginaw and Albert Reif of Muncie, Indiana; and two grandchildren.
