Ionia Sentinel Standard, 17 Mar 1988

John H. Reiger, 62, of Ionia died Wednesday at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  Born
in Ionia Dec. 29, 1925, he was the son of Hattie and Hallie Durkee Reiger.  A
lifelong resident of Ionia, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  He was
employed at Consumers Power in Ionia and later worked for the county.

Surviving are a brother, Jack Kenney of Ionia; a sister, Locena Bensinger; and
several nieces and nephews.

Complete funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Rich Street Chapel
of Cook Funeral Home, with the Rev. F. Michael Valentine officiating.  Burial will
be in Balcom Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home from 2 t0 4 p.m. and
7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.  A memorial has been established for Ionia Area Hospice, in
care of the funeral home.
