He came to Michigan with his parents while in his teens. In 1876, September 30, he was united in marriage to Alice J. Allchin of Montcalm County. To this union was born a son, Fred G. Mr. Reimer has lived in Palo for 51 years. He was a carpenter and contractor and has built many houses in neighboring communities. For over 41 years Mr. Reimer and his wife have been members of the Palo Methodist Episcopal church. For over 30 years he was the treasurer of the church, and for several years superintendent of the Sunday School and teacher of a boys' class. This is eloquent testimony of the confidence that the community has had in him. Not only has he been loyal to the church, but he was liberal and considerate in his relationships with men. He had a reputation for industry. He leaves to mourn his loss his faithful wife, his son, three grandchildren, two brothers, Emanuel and Clark, both of Palo and one sister, Mrs. Emma Copeman of Idaho. The funeral service was held at the Palo Methodist church Sunday afternoon with Rev. W.H. Holcomb of Greenville and the pastor Floyd N. Drake officiating. Burial was in the Palo cemetery.
