All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Marilyn Ransom mransom311@gmail.com August 28, 2014, 10:37 pm The Carson City Gazette, Thursday, April 27, 1944 Mrs. Martha Reimer, widow of the last Emanuel Reimer, died at the home of her son, Glenn Reimer, in Grand Rapids, April 17, after a long and painful illness, at the age of 82 years. Mrs. Reimer was born on a farm south of Carson City and with her twin sister, Mary Townsend, came to Palo in their early teens, where they grew to womanhood and made Palo their permanent home. In early life Mrs. Reimer was converted and baptized into the Baptist church of which she was an active member for over 60 years. For many years she had charge of the infant class in the Sunday school where many children received their early Christian training under her teaching. She was a life member of the Ladies Aid Society and an active member of the Missionary Circle. Funeral services were held from the Baptist church Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Lewis Herrick, an intimate friend of the family. Music was furnished by Mrs. Guy Comstock and Mrs. Ben McKimball with Mrs. Carol Wingeier at the piano. Bearers were Byron Haskin of Ionia, Lewis Woodruff of Grand Rapids, Fred Minier, Harvey Stines, Mm. McLaren and O. A. Braman. Flowers were in charge of B. Greenhoe and two helpers of Grand Rapids. Burial was made in the family lot of Palo cemetery beside her husband who passed away four years ago. To mourn her passing she leaves one son, Glenn, of Grand Rapids, several nephews and nieces besides many lifelong friends.
