Ray R. Fassett officiating. Interment was in Tuttle Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Hammond, Jack Henry, Glenn Sterner, John Addington, Don Martin, and Leo Pratt. Born in Russia June 28, 1897, he was the son of Fredholdt and Maria Christina Hardt Reisbig. He came to the United States at an early age and eventually established a statewide and national reputation as a cattle breeder. His love of the United States and the opportunities it held were always his first concern. He became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1924 at the age of 27. He was married in Grand Haven on December 19, 1924 to Margaret Bair Drake. At the time of the marriage the couple resided in Robertson township near Grand Haven and later moved to Coopersville. They purchased a farm north of Ionia eleven years ago, and they have been active members of the community. Mr. Reisbig was the devoted father of 10 children, many of them are also deeply interested in the raising and showing of cattle. During his career, he exhibited many championship breeds. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church, Ionia County Farm Bureau, life member and active in Holstein-Friesian association of America. Surviving are his wife, Margaret; Mrs. Don (Mary) Martin of Owosso, Mrs. Jack (Ann) Henry of Saranac, Mrs. Charles (Helen) Hammond of Coopersville, Mrs. Glenn (Lea) Sterner of Pewamo, Mrs. John (Nancy) Addington of Ypsilanti; Alexander, Jr., of Grand Rapids, Robert James, William David, Judith Jean, John Peter at home, and a foster son, Gary Reisbig, with the military police in the United States Marines in the Philippines; 18 grandchildren; one brother, Rheinhold of Milwaukee; four sisters, Mrs. Molly Bargewell of Marne, Mrs. Edward (Mary) Pratt of Lowell, Mrs. James (Leah) Holms of Jackson, and Mrs. Al (Esther) Randall of Detroit; and many nieces and nephews.
