Services Held for George F. Reiser

George F. Reiser, 97, former local resident, passed away last Wednesday 
afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs.Dwight (Madeline) Bessemer, of West 
Los Angles, Calif.
he was born Sept. 24, 1871, in Woodland Township, son of Jacob and Mary (Burkle) 
Reiser. He married Lily Abfalter of Ionia in 1905 and lived at Lake Odessa where 
he started the Reiser Lumber Co., 61 years ago. He sold the business to Harold 
Tische in 1948, which continued under the Reiser name.

Mr. Reiser had spent his later years in California, and was a well known as a 
Civic leader. He held many offices in the community during his residence here.

Mr. Reiser was a member of the Woodland Zion Lutheran Church. Surviving are his 
daughter, Madeline; nieces and nephews. His wife Lily passed away Oct.9, 1947, 
and a son Paul passed away in 1929 and his daughter, Marie Tischer, Nov. !9, 
1948.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 1:30 at the Woodland Zion Lutheran 
church. Rev. Elnar Unseth officiated, with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
