R. Remington, aged 67 years old, an old Grand Rapids resident, died Sunday. Mrs. Remington was the daughter of Amos and Sarah Morgan Roberts, early settlers of Ionia county, and the grand-daughter of Colonel and Sally Hurd Roberts of Grand Rapids, with whom she made her home since early youth. Mrs. Remington was married to Captain George W. Remington of the Third Michigan Infantry Aug. 25, 1865, who died May 28, 1878. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Robert and John Remington of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Thomas Lamb of Rockford, Mich., and Mrs. Edwin M. Wheeler of Grand Rapids. Mrs. Remington, a devoted mother and Christian woman, will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edwin M. Wheeler, 965 Buchanan street. Friends of the family are invited. The interment will be private. Mrs. Remington was a daughter of the late Mrs. John B. Welch, and therefore closely related to a number of residents of this city and vicinity.
