Ann Jeanette Hood was born in Amenia, Duchess Co., N.Y., Nov. 10, 1809, was married to Wm. M. Remington, Sept. 2, 1832. They came to Michigan in 1869, where she resided until her death which occurred April 13 at the age of nearly 80 years. She had seven children living, all of whom were present and two who had gone on before and were waiting for her in the better land. The services were very impressive, Rev. H. W. Powell, of Lowell, officiating. The music selected was beautiful and finely rendered. The floral emblems lovely and numerous, among which was a large cross, anchor and star combined and a pillow of white tuberoses and cream tea roses, with the word “mother” in purple immortelles in the center from her children, were much noticeable. She was a kind neighbor, a devoted wife, a loving and tender mother. Those who knew her best loved her most. Like a sheaf ripened for the garner she only waited the call of her Saviour to leave this world of pain and suffering and come up higher.
