Lowell Journal, 10 Aug 1892

William M. Remington -   Died at Bangor, Mich., Aug. 1, 1892, aged 81 years.  He
was born in Duchess Co., N.Y., Nov. 30, 1810.  On Sept. 3, 1831, he married Ann
Jeannette Hood.  This union was blessed with nine children, seven of whom are
living: viz. Wagar T., who resides in Ionia; Susan, the wife of Benjamin A.
Lewis, who resides in Cayuga Co., N.Y.; Geo. H., Postmaster in Bangor, Mich.;
Wm.  M., Jr., depot agent in Bangor, Mich.; Silas K., merchant in Russell, Kan.;
Anna, Mrs. A. P. Burr, who resides in Boston Township on a farm; and Hannah C.,
Mrs. Wm. Hobbs, who resides in Antrim Co., Mich.  

The beloved mother of these children died Apr. 13, 1889, at the age of 79 yrs. 
Mr. Remington was permitted to tarry a little longer and now at a ripe old age
he is laid to rest, leaving a good record as a kind husband and father, a good
neighbor and citizen, showing integrity of character in his various relations in
life.  His remains were brought to South Boston on Tuesday and interred in the
South Boston cemetery, on Wednesday, the services being held at the residence of
his daughter, Mrs. Burr.  All the children, except Silas, were present, also
grandchildren and a large number of friends and neighbors to join in the last
sad rites of our dearly beloved and highly esteemed.
