Aldon E. Rench, 66, of 3900 Pakes Road, Stanton, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003,
at his home.  He was born Oct. 13, 1936, in Sherwood, the son of Clyde and Edith
Watson Rench.  He married Barbara A. Ruthruf on Oct. 19, 1964 in Augusta.

Mr. Rench was a resident of Evergreen Township for the past 10 years, formerly
of Portland.  He retired from General Motors in Lansing.  Aldon was an avid
hunter and fisherman.  He loved boating and the outdoors in general. In
addition, he enjoyed woodworking. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara A.
Rench; five daughters, Linda Rench, Lucinda and Delano Endsley, all of Hastings,
Marsha Phelps and Bob Menkowski of Crystal, Lisa and Bill Wilson, Michelle and
George Hill, all of Gig Harbor, Wash.; three sons, Steven and Joyce Rutherford
of Portage, Kenneth and Becky Rutherford of Stanton, Richard and Carla
Rutherford of Grand Rapids; 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; three
sisters and two brothers-in-law, Linda Rutherford of Otsego, Marcia and Roy Hall
of Battle Creek, Roberta and Walt Kilbum of Orangeville; two brothers and
sisters-in-law, Dana and Shirley Rench of Kalamazoo, Jim and Rose Rench of
Battle Creek.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Stebbins & Simpson Funeral Home,
Sheridan, with the Rev. Carl Gruno officiating.  Interment is in Crystal
Cemetery, Crystal. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  The
family suggests memorial consideration to Carson City Hospice.
