Laura Resler, 89, of Coral, passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Spectrum
Health Kelsey Hospital, Lakeview.  Laura was born July 31, 1919, in Belding, to
Marion and Anna Zilkey Sherman.

Raised in the Morley area, she attended Morley School through the eighth grade.
 On Nov. 9, 1939, Laura married Bennie Russell, who passed away in 1985.  She
then married Donald Resler on Jan. 16, 1999.  He also preceded her in death. 
Laura worked making gloves and also at Wolverine World Wide in Big Rapids until
she retired to be a full-time housewife.  She was a member of the Morley
American Legion Auxiliary.  She loved spending her time camping, fishing,
hunting, snowmobiling, gardening, dancing, doing crochet work and her music –
most of all polka music and Lawrence Welk – as well as her work with the Morley
Auxiliary.

Laura is survived by son, Lee Russell of Lamont, Fla.; daughter, Patricia
Bongard of Howard City; grandchildren, Matthew and Rosemary Russell of Buelah,
Allen and Cheryl Russell, Jeff and Theresa Russell, Deborah Hansen, Brenda
Gleason, all of Howard City, Tricia and Keith Noyce of Mount Morris; and 15
great-grandchildren.  Laura was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters,
Edith Smith, Annabelle Jack; two brothers, Charles Forest, Elmer Sherman; and
son, Walter Russell.

A service in memory of Laura will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brigham Funeral
Chapel, Lakeview, with the Rev. Philip Bongard officiating.  There will be no
visitation.  Memorial contributions for Laura may be made to the American Lung
Association.
