Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 12 Aug 1957

Mrs. Matilda Retersdorf, 80, of route one, Belding, died at her farm home at
5:30 p.m. Sunday, August 11.  She was born in Otisco township in Ionia county
June 10, 1877, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine Albert.  Mrs. Retersdorf
lived in Mariam all her life.  She was a member of the St. Mary’s church of
Mariam and a member of the St. Mary’s Rosary society.  October 17, 1899 she was
married to Henry Reterstorf who preceded her in death August 17, 1952.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Leona Kessler of route one, Belding; one sister
Mrs. Syfronia Breimeyer of route one, Belding, and one brother, Theodore Albert,
also of route one, Belding.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. from the St. Mary’s church in
Mariam with the Rev. Fr. Charles Steves officiating.  Interment will be in the
St. Mary’s church cemetery.  The body will be at the Huffman funeral home in
Belding until the funeral.
